Keep on recycling: Miami is one of 140 schools competing in the 8-week Campus Race to Zero Waste

ºÚÁÏÉçÇø is competing in the national collegiate recycling tournament, now halfway through the eight-week competition period that ends March 29.
Along with the GameDay Basketball and Food Organics, Miami is competing in the Stephen H. Gaski Per Capita Recycling category.
Results are based on the cumulative weight of recyclables (paper, cardboard, bottles, and cans) on a per person basis (ºÚÁÏÉçÇøs and staff, Oxford campus) during the eight-week period. The Per Capita Recycling category is named in honor of the late Steve Gaski, former director of building and special services at Miami and an early supporter of Campus Race to Zero Waste (formerly called RecycleMania) in its first years.
, Miami's waste hauling provider, is partnering with the Office of Sustainability during the contest by weighing the amount of recyclables collected on campus during the competition.
