Leslie Haxby McNeill, assistant director of 黑料社区 wellness at 黑料社区, has been honored with the prestigious Tom Goodale Award for Exceptional Advising in Peer Education. Her work with organizations, such as HAWKS Peer Health Educators, has set a national standard for 黑料社区 involvement and well-being. 

John Forren, associate professor of Justice and Community Studies and executive director of the Menard Family Center for Democracy, will be the facilitator for the city of Middletown's “Downtown Refresh Town Hall Meeting” (from 5-7 p.m. March 11, City Council Chambers) about the future of downtown Middletown. This open house-style event will allow staff to gather additional thoughts and feedback from citizens and employees who work in Middletown. 

Daryl Baldwin, executive director of the Myaamia Center, received $2,100,000 from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation for a project entitled "Growing the Forest: Expanding the National Breath of Life Archival Institute for Tribal Communities."

 Cricket Meehan, director of the Ohio School-Based Center of Excellence for Prevention and Early Intervention (SBCOE), Debora Robison, director of outreach collaboration,  and Jessica Muhlenkamp, project administrator for SBCOE, received $1,280,343 from the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, pass-through funds from the Department of Health and Human Services, for a project entitled "Ohio's Project AWARE (Advancing Wellness And Resiliency in Education)." The remaining $106,639 of this award is designated to the Center for Human Development, Learning and Technology for the project entitled “Evaluation of Ohio's Project AWARE (Advancing Wellness And Resiliency in Education).”

Honglu Jiang, assistant professor of Computer Science and Software Engineering (CSSE), James Walden, professor of CSSE and director of the Center for Cybersecurity, Marianne Murphy, professor and chair of Computer and Information Technology, and Joseph Nwankpa, associate professor of Information Systems and Analytics, received $199,850 from the U.S. Department of Commerce for a project entitled "Multidisciplinary Pathways to Cybersecurity Professionals."

Liran Ma, professor and chair of Computer Science and Software Engineering, received $200,000 from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "Collaborative Research: IUSE: EDU: The AI Voyage: Integrating AI Literacy into Computer Science Curricula with Accessible Hands-On Learning Activities."

Ma also received $87,910 from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "Collaborative Research: SaTC: EDU: Fire and ICE: Raising Security Awareness through Experiential Learning Activities for Building Trustworthy Deep Learning-based Applications."

Elisabeth Widom, professor of Geology and Environmental Earth Science, received $216,127 from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "IPA Assignment - Dr. Elisabeth Widom."

Colleen Bush, assistant dean for external relations and outreach in the College of Engineering and Computing, received $92,578 from the Fifth Third Bank Charlotte R. Schmidlapp Fund for a project entitled "Pipeline Development: Advancing STEM in Communities (ASC)." The remaining $7,422 of this award is allocated to the project led by Yue Li, associate director of the Discovery Center for Evaluation, Research, and Professional Learning.

Michael Brudzinski, professor of Geology and Environmental Earth Science, received $29,970 from the University of Oregon, pass-through funds from the National Science Foundation, for a project entitled "Assessment of Availability and Accessibility of Hazard Warnings in Cascadia to Improve Equity in Disaster Risk Reduction."

Mark Krekeler, associate professor of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, received $32,500 from Levy Konigsberg LLP for a project entitled "Expert Witness Support for Talc-Asbestos Project and Supporting Undergraduate Experiences in Applied Mineralogy."

 Ozge Surer, assistant professor of  Information Systems and Analytics, received $43,350 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with pass-through funds from the National Science Foundation, for the project entitled "Advancing Theory for Nuclear Double-Beta Decay."

Robert Graham, associate director and research scholar, and Ian Matthew Nelson, research scholar, in the Scripps Gerontology Center, received $23,471 from Clermont Senior Services, Inc. for a project entitled "Proposal to Examine the Demographic and Long-Term Services Changes in Clermont County 2010-2050."

 Kevin Bush, professor of Educational Psychology; Ally Murphy, assistant professor of Education and Society; and Veronica Barrios, associate professor and Carlyn Kimiecik, assistant professor, of Family Studies and Social Work, received $15,712 from the Butler County Educational Service Center for the project entitled "Needs Assessment of Butler County and Preble County Head Start."
