Process change: Entity account creation now requires claim code

As we continue to shore up our IAM processes, we are turning our attention to entity accounts. We want to create uniformity around how all of the different types of accounts are created.

To that end, the IAM and Iterator teams made a minor change to the setup process for entity accounts on January 15. With this change, entity accounts now use a claim code to set a password at , instead of the previous process (which involved using a primary trustee’s default password). Upon requesting an entity account, primary trustees will receive an email from the accounts system with a claim code so that they can claim the account and set the password for the entity account.

Please remember: Entity accounts are subject to the University password standard, which means they must be at least 16 characters of upper and lower case letters.

Going forward, the primary trustee email will be the recovery email for the entity account. Primary trustees can complete a self-service password recovery on the account by going to the accounts system at .
