How has Miami helped you launch your startup?
It has been amazing to see the amount of support that we've had here. We're just trying to move really fast right now because I have one year of college left and I want to make the most of the resources I have available here on campus. And it’s as easy as literally just going to a professor's office hours when I need help with the tiniest thing. But it's huge in my mind. I'm like, ‘okay, they'll know how to do this in two seconds.’
How did you line up your internship?
I'm in the Altman Internship Program, which is through the Entrepreneurship department. I was able to get my internship through this program because they create a database of all the different opportunities and alumni who have reached out to them with these job opportunities. I'm working for NextGen — it's a small company in Greenville, South Carolina, that connects entrepreneurs with the resources in the area that can help them succeed. And I'm working with another Miami ºÚÁÏÉçÇø, who's actually in my class. It's nice to have that opportunity that my professors helped me get, and then working with an alumni because I know he's super excited to have two Miami ºÚÁÏÉçÇøs there.
Why should ºÚÁÏÉçÇøs choose Miami?
They should choose Miami for the aspect of community that you get here. It's like no other school. When people come visit from out of town, they see how close everyone is. And the fact that everyone here wants to help their peers. And the alumni want to help the ºÚÁÏÉçÇøs, even if it’s just helping set up for an interview or having a phone call. That sense of community is like nowhere else. Everyone that I've talked to just loves the sense of community here.
