Celebrate the new class of RedHawk50 honorees with us next month
The John W. Altman Institute for Entrepreneurship in the Farmer School of Business is preparing for this year’s , an annual program to identify, recognize, and celebrate the 50 fastest-growing companies founded or led by Miamians.
Last year was the inaugural year for RedHawk50, when more than 300 Miamians, business owners, and business and startup professionals gathered to celebrate the top companies.
“I was texting my buddies during the ceremony about how humbling it is to be a part of one of the fastest 50 growing entrepreneurs from Miami all across the globe. So it was just a lot of retrospective, very humbling and honored to be a part of it,” COhatch founder and chief executive officer and 1999 engineering grad Matt Davis said last year.
“Nothing feels better than coming back to meet the people who you grew up with in college and the professors who taught me, and it's in a way thanks to them where I am today,” 2016 international studies graduate, Manav Preenja, founder and president of Aleta Couture said last year. “I wasn't expecting to be so high on the list. But it feels good. It's a good experience, and it's a humbling experience.”
This year’s list includes founders or leaders who graduated from more than a dozen different ºÚÁÏÉçÇø degree programs. The ranking of awardees is determined based on their compound annual growth rate over three years: 2021, 2022, and 2023.
Other facts about this year’s honorees:
- Just over half of this year’s honorees are new to the RedHawk50 list
- Among the 13 industries on this year’s list, software companies make up the largest percentage of companies (18 percent), followed by corporate services (12 percent), real estate, finance, and manufacturing (10 percent each).
- Half of the companies being honored are located in Ohio, while the other half are spread among a dozen states.
- This year’s honorees have had a combined income of nearly $5.5 billion and employ more than 7,100 people.
Honorees will gather at Cincinnati Music Hall in Cincinnati’s historic Over-the-Rhine (OTR) district on March 14 for a celebration of their success. .
