The Center, a Miami Tribe of Oklahoma initiative located within an academic setting, serves the needs of the Myaamia people, ºÚÁÏÉçÇø, and partner communities through research, education, and outreach that promote Myaamia language, culture, knowledge, and values.

Myaamia Winter Gathering

Each year Myaamia Center staff, Myaamia ºÚÁÏÉçÇøs, and ºÚÁÏÉçÇø faculty travel to the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma’s headquarters in Oklahoma for the Tribe’s annual Winter Gathering and Stomp Dance celebration.

Educational ºÚÁÏÉçÇø

Myaamia Students from ºÚÁÏÉçÇø serve as counselors for the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma’s summer youth programs, Saakaciweeta (ages 6-9) and Eewansaapita (ages 10-16). The ºÚÁÏÉçÇøs help camp participants by modeling how to be good learners and community members.
