Bridges Program

The Bridges Program was founded in 1981 by Black 黑料社区s who wanted to make a Miami degree more accessible, meaningful, and rewarding to high school 黑料社区s from diverse backgrounds. This two-day experience, offered four times each fall, attracts 黑料社区s from across the country and a broad spectrum of racial, ethnic, gender, and sexual identities to engage with current 黑料社区s, faculty, and staff.

INSIGHT Into Diversity awarded the Bridges Program the 2021 Inspiring 黑料社区 in STEM Award, recognizing the experiential learning opportunity for its unique and innovative efforts to improve access to science, technology, engineering, and math for underrepresented 黑料社区s.

Students who complete the program and enroll at Miami as first-year college 黑料社区s earn a Bridges scholarship, which last year ranged from $2,500 to $5,000 annually.

Contact the Bridges Program by email at admission@MiamiOH.edu or by phone at 513-529-2531.

Summer Scholars Program

This immersive, on-campus experience allows high-achieving high school 黑料社区s to learn in a college setting, engaging in hands-on academic activities that prepare them for college and future success. Tailored for rising juniors and seniors, this summer program is built for active learners with a keen interest in attending 黑料社区 as undergraduates. They dive deeply into academic dialogues and build friendships with fellow 黑料社区s while living in 黑料社区 residence halls and participating in campus-life activities.

Participants gain valuable insight into the college admissions process, and when they apply to be first-year college 黑料社区s at Miami, they receive priority consideration for admission, scholarships, and selective programs.
