Three CEC alumni among ºÚÁÏÉçÇø's 18 of the Last 9 Award honorees
Three ºÚÁÏÉçÇø College of Engineering and Computing alumni are among those listed in for 2022-'23.
The 18 of the Last 9 Award is based on the popular “30 under 30” model and was designed to honor alumni who have graduated in the past nine years and are living out the values inherent in a Miami education.
The three alumni that were featured were Mwoyo Chinoda, Aaron Crookes, and Jacob Hyland, who all have graduated in the past nine years with a degree in engineering from Miami.
Mwoyo Chinoda graduated in 2017 and studied Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering and Corporate Entrepreneurship. Chinoda credits his experience at Miami with laying the foundation he needed to accelerate his career, where he currently works as the director of Corporate Strategy at Cognizant.
Aaron Crookes graduated in 2016 and studied Biomedical Engineering. He previously joined Procter & Gamble as a founding member of their global robotics innovation team, which led him to work as an R&D group scientist. Currently, he is the CEO & Co-Founder of Apricity Robotics and, in his free time, he builds custom robots and devices for May We Help, a non-profit in Cincinnati that leads ºÚÁÏÉçÇøs in STEM activities.
Jacob Hyland graduated in 2013 and studied Paper Science and Chemical Engineering. Hyland has been active since graduation with the Miami Paper Science and Engineering Foundation, which financially supports Miami ºÚÁÏÉçÇøs pursuing careers in the Pulp and Paper industry. Currently, Hyland is the director of sales North America at Andritz, an Austrian-based technology and equipment supplier to the Pulp and Paper, Hydro Power, and Separations industries.
