Join us for an evening of strength, power, and universal solace as the Grammy Award-winning Jubilee Singers of Fisk University bring to life the spirituals sung by slaves prior to the Civil War. Their music, described as an unexpected balm that soothes the soul in troubled times, has left a lasting impact on audiences worldwide.

The original Fisk Jubilee Singers first introduced ‘slave songs’ to the world in 1871 at Oberlin College, marking one of the earliest public performances of these secret songs. Throughout the late 19th century, they broke racial barriers in the United States and performed for royalty in Europe. Their illustrious history has earned them numerous prestigious accolades, including the National Medal of Arts, and was vividly portrayed in the PBS documentary “Jubilee Singers: Sacrifice and Glory.”

ºÚÁÏÉçÇø’s choral program proudly features three distinctive ensembles with a combined membership of approximately 200 singers. These ensembles have performed in prestigious venues across the globe, including Carnegie Hall in New York, Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow, Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, and St. Mark's Basilica in Venice. Highlights of the 2023-24 season include an invited performance at the Ohio Music Education Association Conference by the Choraliers, a concert at Cincinnati's historic Music Hall, and a 10-day tour of Italy with performances in Venice, Assisi, Lucca, and Rome.

Don’t miss this opportunity to experience an evening of unparalleled choral music that bridges history, culture, and emotion.
